| Children's day |
This week, was not too exciting. I spent most of it laying on a futon. And taking really hot baths. And stretching.
Tuesday: was pday. We ordered pizza from dominos and we ordered 2 medium. They were tiny! But it tasted so good it was worth the over expensive price we paid. Then we played lots of different card games watched "Meet the Mormons".
Wednesday: another inside all day sort of deal. We were supposed to have dinner at a members but couldn't go. We were sad because we really like the member and the members family who invited us. Also, because we were getting tired of sitting inside all day. But around 7 someone rang our ping pong. We looked at the camera to see who it was and it was the mom and dad of this awesome family. They had brought us over huge plates of food. And little plates of dessert. It was so sweet.
Thursday: Kaicho (president) said I could go out in the evening. Well, in the evening we had dinner at a members house with our recent converts, the K family. I should give the reason there's all these dinners. It's Golden week in Japan. This week there was 4 holidays and everyone had off work and school. Thursday was kids day so we celebrated that with the members. It was really fun. We made those fish flags out of origami to put our chopsticks in. We made samurai hats. It was way fun.

Friday: I am now a PMG [Preach My Gospel] lesson master in the Japanese language. I passed off my last lesson. I am so happy! We also got to go out and dendo today! Happy day! It poured rain all day. Except for when we were outside. Then it stopped. Huge miracle. We had quite a few unplanned lessons. We visited a friend of a member from India. We didn't know what to talk to her about (gospel wise). She's Shik, which I believe is a type of Hindu. But at one point in the conversation she

said that men don't cut their hair after their born as a promise to God. Well, we just whipped out the story of Samson. That idea was totally given to us by the Spirit. We dedno-ed for only a bit but it was nice to get out of the apartment.
Saturday: we had kodomo Eikaiwa [
childrens English class]. We played lots of fun games. We played "
do you love your neighbor?" It was a real hit. They thought it
was the funniest game. We went dedno-ing and the weather was really nice. It's getting really warm and sticky now... We met this awesome college student. We talked about school and how textbooks for school really help you in class. Then we said we had a textbook for life. And we pulled out a BoM. She really liked the idea of receiving personal advice from the BoM. We took a break for my back in Micky D's. Their ¥100 soft serve ice cream and apple pie together are the bomb. After Micky D's we dedno-ed a bit more. We knocked into the most cheerful happy-go-lucky person I've ever met. He

opened the door beaming and was just so welcoming when we explained who we were and what we were doing. He genuinely listened. It was so kind. After we left his house I think I walked with a skip in my step. And I decided I want to be like this man. I want to ooze happiness and kindness so that all the people I see and met can walk away feeling a little bit more of God's love. It's a work in progress.
Sunday: Sunday was good. Since W shimai skyped her family before church and then we had DCS-(dedno chōsei shukai (ummmm, in English? It's where we meet with the Ward mission leader and RS president and chat...)). So by the end of sacrament meeting I had been sitting for over 3 hours. Which my back did not like one bit. So we went home after sacrament meeting. The elders have been killing it recently and each week, they have ladies they've invited to church show up. I don't know how they do it. I'm impressed. Since their ladies, we get to sit with them and take their contact information to meet again. After church we did more laying down. Egan shimai said to take it easy. So we played go fish in Japanese and watched "meet the Mormons" in Japanese. I'm way worried I'm going to start losing my Japanese if I stay in more. I also read a lot of Alma (my favorite book). I'm towards the end with the the armies of Helaman. I really liked
Alma 57:25 at the end. It's after a huge battle the the army of Helaman fought. It says "nevertheless, according to the goodness of God, and to our great astonishment, and also the joy of our whole army, there was not one soul of them who did perish; yea, and neither was there one soul among them who had not received many wounds." And I just was thinking about how we're in a war too: against right and wrong. and if we choose the good and choose to follow God, we've been promised that we'll be protected, just like the armies of Helaman. However, just because we're protected doesn't mean it's easy. Doesn't mean we don't get a little beat up on the way. We'll receive wounds (physical, spiritual, emotions, mental) while we are on earth. But God promises that if we follow Him, those wounds won't be the end of us. We will be able to overcome them. Because of my hurt back I like this. Because I am on His errand, I should expect to get wounded. But those wounds can be overcome through His son, Jesus Christ. And even though this week has been really hard, I've had a lot of time to think about my Savior and recognize all the help I've received from Him. I know that the Savior will help me through this trail. Because He's promised to and He always keeps His promises.
Well, that's all for now folks. In just a few minutes, I'll probably skype my wonderful family [
yeah! it was so fun to talk to her. Her back is still bothering her a bit, but she is able to do missionary work again.]. See ya soon fam bam!
Remember, don't make fun of my English. I love you all! I love this work! I love the Savior!
Don't forget to be awesome 🖖🏽🖖🏽
Love love love
